Stallion Breeding Contract

This agreement is made and entered into this____________day of _____________by Barthel Paint & Quarter Horses (BPH) and the mare owner known as____________________________. *Negative Coggins test required within 90 days of arrival or mare will be tested at time of arrival.
*A photostatic copy of the mare’s registration certificate must be furnished and returned with this contract as one of the requirements.
*The mare shall be in a healthy and sound breeding condition. An examination of the mare will be made by our vet before breeding . If the mare is found to be unfit for breeding, we will treat the mare at owner’s expense.
*The mare shall be halter broke.
*BPH will not be responsible for accident, sickness or death to the said mare and or foal. BPH will exercise judgment in the care and supervision of the mare and or foal. It is also agreed that the mare owner will not be held responsible for any disease, accidents or injury to BPH, that may be caused by the said mare.
*BPH will diligently and reasonably try to settle the said mare. If it is determined that the said mare can not be settled, BPH will be held harmless.
*It is said that BPH guarantees a live foal from this mating. Should the foal not stand and suck, mare owner will be entitled to a return privilege. If the mare does not produce a foal that stand and sucks a fee of $250.00 will be charged for the rebreed. 
*The mare owner may not assign this breeding contract or substitute any other mare without the consent of BPH. 
*It is further agreed that if contracted stallion dies or becomes unfit for breeding this contract is null and void.
*It is agreed all mare care, vet bills and breeding fees must be paid in full when the mare is picked up.
